Finished Owl Quilt from The Quilt Yarn

Finished my little owl quilt. 



The quilt comes to 36.5in x 48.5in and is quilted with an edge-to-edge allover design from Urban Elementz (see also last blog post). 


Very happy with how this turned out...it's vibrant, cheerful and interesting to look at, despite its simplicity. Lots of fun to put together and I am happy to report that the owl fabric is finally all used up (not that that made any dent in the ever growing stash).

Whoo Knows from Night Owl Quilting


I recently had the privilege of adding some custom quilting to this fabulous quilt top for Christine.  The top was pieced and all of the hand applique was done by Christine's dear friend Anne Riemer.  To honor Anne's generous spirit and help a charity close to her heart, Christine has donated the quilt to a fundraising art auction for the Wildlife Haven Rehabilitation Centre.  The quilt is Item #15, and the auction runs from February 18-27, 2022.

Straight Line Quilting on the Longarm Using Rulers! from Quilt Addicts Anonymous

We promised you a beginner level straight line quilting on the longarm tutorial and here it is!

In today’s video I show you how I used rulers to create straight lines that are exactly one-inch apart and perfectly straight every time.

I know some of you may be asking why I don’t just use channel locks and there’s three reasons …

First, your leaders have to be rolled perfect straight. Mine aren’t, never have been probably never will.

Second, you have to have loaded your quilt on perfectly straight, also a high chance for human error.

Long Time Gone! from Pinkadot Quilts




My Wild Turkey Quilt! I love Thanksgiving, it is my favorite holiday I thought it would be appropriate to make a quilt for the occasion. The  pattern is free and you can find it at Wisconsin Quilting I will warn you now, it is not a beginner pattern. There are no real directions and I made several mistakes before I got the hang of how this went together. I kind of liked the challenge!
